PG : Project Description
Real-Time Audio Processing
Name: Peter Gapinski
Project Description: Design a digital acquisition (DAC) system that processes sound in real-time.
General Requirements:
- Implement applications to:
- record in real-time using a microphone
- playback using streaming techniques (e.g. cd walkman)
- record and playback in real-time
- broadcast your live radio show over the internet.
- Address the typical DAC functions of collecting, processing, logging, and reporting, as well as issues including multi-tasking and buffering.
- Implement controls to create noise in the system and methods to handle it. Noise includes issues such as data loss, transmission too fast or too slow, and clipping sound waves.
- Explore differences in sound processors and platforms (CPU and OS).
