Currently,
1) Alumni may create user profiles and access
the system from the internet to create, edit, or delete their respective data.
2) Administrators may edit data or delete outdated data.
3) Administrators may create reports on the data.
4) The general public may view most data on the alumni.
5) The general public may run searches on the data.
1.4 System
Constraints
The SNC-ATS will have the following constraints:
1) Windows-based operating system.
2) Database must utilize Microsoft Access 2003.
3) The system must be created in a 3-month timeframe.
4) The
system should be designed to be able to handle information from any other
fields of study at
5) The administrators must be able to maintain the system and respect security issues regarding the system’s data.
6) Data will need to be manually entered into the database by numerous users. There will be some uncontrolled text fields.
7) Updates that must be made are in the hands of the user.
8) Restrictions will apply to alumni (from “touching” each other’s data) and general users (from “touching” any of the data).
1.5 Objectives
The SNC-ATS will meet the following objectives:
1) Alumni will be able to enter general personal and career information easily online.
2) Current SNC students and faculty will be able to access this information with ease. This also includes searching through the data to find specific information.
3) The system administrator(s) will be able to print off reports on the data.
