The Project
We all hate playing the game called “Circling The Parking Lots”, desperately searching
for that one open space before our next class begins. Wouldn’t it be clever to be able to
look at our phone (not while driving of course) to find the nearest open spot? We might
even be willing to pay a small fee to reserve a spot to avoid playing the game altogether.
The Goal: Construct a mobile application that assists commuters in locating
open parking spaces on campus.
Requirements:
1. Be able to determine available spaces (textually and visually) in multiple lots and
perhaps time remaining on occupied spaces.
2. Pay for parking using a debit type arrangement.
3. View time remaining on your parking eMeter, and add additional time.
4. Check to see if you were given a parking ticket.
5. Reserve a space for a date/time.
6. Implement the app for several locations.

Philosophy
Computer Science was never anything that came naturally to me. I stepped out of my comfort zone in high school and took the AP Computer Science class that we offered. I definitely struggled a bit at first, but who doesn't? Over the course of that year I came to love writing code and creating something from nothing. After that, I decided that I would pursue this as my major. I came to St. Norbert starting in CSCI 205 and never looked back from there.
