Major: Computer Science with a concentration in Business Information Systems.
Philosophy Statement
When I first arrived at St. Norbert College, I previously had no exposure to the field of computer science, but always had an immense interest in computers and how they worked. Initially I was interested in learning how the code behind the programs all worked and then I soon realized that it's not just one set of code but rather there are many [high level] languages and what is important is the design and concepts utilized and implemented.
Computer Science is a unique field requiring a great deal of creativity, problem solving, and design. Computer scientists are increasingly asked to solve greater problems, provide more solutions, all with the requirement that they are delivered swiftly and efficiently. More and more processes that are manual today are being automated, and technology is progressing in its development to meet these needs. Additionally, computer science allows us to be able to adapt easily to newer, better techniques to meet these dynamic needs and as the field changes over time.
Career Path
