Step by Step

1. Get OpenCV install

2. Install VS2012 (or older)

3. Download Kinect's driver

4. Learn how to use the Kinect's sensors.

5. Learn Skin detector algm.

6. Experiencing some calculation fingers

7. Make Music program

8. Test hand gesture recognition on the Music application

OpenCV

It's a open sources, therefore it doesn't mean that it easy to use.

Try to use the old version (3-6months ago). It will more stable and there should be a lot of resourse to teach about how to use. Moreover, most of the errors may be fixed
