Philosophy StatementMy journey as a computer scientist began the second semester of my third year in college. Shortly after transferring to St. Norbert College in 2013, I made the decision to change majors from biology to computer science after taking the Introduction to Computer Programming course. While I found this course to be challenging at the time, I remember really enjoying the end result of creating a working program and having my hard work pay off.
Computer programming deals with problem solving but the way one reaches a solution is completely open ended. This allows a programmer to add their own creative touch in their code. I wouldn't consider myself to be artistically creative, but over the past few years after being exposed to my classmate's unique solutions to the same programming assignment, I am now convinced that programming is a form of art. I'm looking forward to graduating in May of this year so that I can continue to improve my skills as a programmer in a professional environment. |
Career Plans
This summer I will be attending, Dev, a coding boot camp in Chicago
starting June 19th. Towards the end of the program, Dev, helps each
student to network and connects them with several companies looking
to hire programmers in the Chicago area. I hope to eventually land a job
as a software engineer.
