CS225 Presentation By:
Joe Cohen & Brandon Gigot

Brandon and Joe are Computer Science students at St. Norbert College. Our entire CS225 class has been put up to the challenge of creating a research project. Our project deals with event-driven programming and all of the fun stuff that comes with it. Neither of us had any past experience with the subject matter, so we're doing our best to create something that will knock your socks off.

Our project will consist of creating an event-driven program through the use of a High Level Language. (HLL) Both of us are familiar with C++ coding, but we've never done something of this caliber before. Using Macromedia Flash will require us to get a feel for how ActionScript works and how to transfer various creations to you, the viewer. Over the course of our project we will show our creations in the "Examples" section. All of the coding will be placed into "Sample Code."

As part of our project, we will make an interactive flash video where users can interact to cause various events to occur. Event-Driven Programming doesn't only involve mastering code, but mastering the graphical instruments that go with it. Maybe we'll become graphic design majors after this, but I wouldn't count on it. It takes a lot of experience to gain a real mastery of Flash and all of its components. Even so, we hope to give you a little better understanding about what event-driven programming is, how it works, and how tools like Flash can be used to amplify the whole experience. With that being said, please feel free to browse around and see what we have to offer. We hope to make this as enjoyable for you as it is for us.
