There are many ideas to expand on using the iRobot. Our main idea of expansion is to incorporate a PS3 controller, which uses bluetooth, to control the robot. It would be smart to first link the controller to the computer first and then to the Create. It is plausible, with more experimentation, that you could link the controller and Create directly without the computer.
Other ideas include:
- Team Racing - Programmers could be given an iRobot with a blank slate and they could see who could make the fastest robot.
- Assistance for the elderly and disabled - Robots could be used to help the elderly and disabled.
- Robotic Servers - Platforms can be put on the Create to serve drinks.
- Scientific exploration and observation
