Blog: Week 1

Hello! Welcome to my senior year capstone blog. I will be using this blog as a sort of devlog as I progress through this project. My project is officially titled “Train Tracking” but I like to call it Train OS or TOS. The goal of my project is to create a client server multiplayer game where a server manages many clients with trains on track; it is meant to work in a similar way to how an operating system manages various processes on your machine. During week one I have been able to make slight progress. I was able to create a plan of attack for my project. I will first develop the game to work locally and then modify it to work in a server/client environment. I have decided to create the game using unity and thus my first “Hello World” was getting a train to move in unity. I included a video of that working below. In week two I will plan the object hierarchy of Train OS and will attempt to start creating the various objects.
