I'll probably put bullet points about myself here.
I read fantasy, and have done so from a very young age. I would create worlds in my head with characters that could do anything. When I eventually realized that some things (such as magic) human beings just can't do, I had to know why. I pursued an education in biomedical science throughout high school and earned a research internship position in my junior year. When my role evolved into calibrating an endothelial cell growth measuring program, I was hooked: the small changes I made changed how an entire world worked in that machine. I began wholeheartedly seeking ways to immerse myself in the growing field of computational biology. As an undergrad, I have taken a breadth of STEM courses, completed a chemistry minor, and am now weeks away from earning a B.S. in computer science. I am excited and thrilled to work in my chosen field, where what I make appears almost like magic.
