Philisophy:
Computers and Computer Science have been a passion of mine for many years. When I was young I always knew I would go to school to study computers. Even with my initial passion and desire to study computer science I never could have anticipated how much I would learn and grow during my time at Saint Norbert college. Since the start of my college career I have been exposed to endless fields of technology. I have gotten to explore the ins and outs of computer science and other related fields in order to determine my passions and interests in all possible forms of the science. Along side exploring computers and the related sciences I have developed many important life skills that I will keep with me forever. Throughout my college career I have been posed with a wide array of problems to explore and solve. The process of solving a problem is one of the greatest skills I have derived from my time at Saint Norbert college. I have learned to expand my realm of thinking and learning in order to adapt to any problem that is presented to me. In turn I am constantly finding more things to learn and explore in order to expand my knowledge and problem solving abilities. This process can be daunting, but the feeling of accomplishment that comes with each problem solved is enormous.
Computer Science is not only a field of work and study. It is a way of life. The skills derived from learning computer science can be applied all over every day life. Thinking and problem solving are so important, and I would have never come close to refining those skills had I not chosen to study computer science. Technology is an ever changing piece of society. As a computer scientist I get to constantly explore new technology in order to expand and develop ideas. Getting to see technology in stages of development, and then watch how that development turns into technology that helps in every day life is an amazing thing. This shows how computer scientists never stop learning. We are always looking to learn new ways to solve problems and develop new technology. Knowing that I will always be able to learn more in my field is something that I take in very high regard, and is one of my favorite things about computer science. Following my time at Saint Norbert College I know I will use all of the skills taught to me, but I will always be expanding those skills in order to learn and become a better computer scientist. This idea excites me and I look forward to what the future brings in the field of computer science.
