My Life
I started as a chemistry major but after a rough few years I eventually found what I enjoyed doing most. I have always loved technology and working with it or on it my entire life. I decided one day during my summer job cutting the lawn that I had to do what I enjoyed doing or I would end up hating my job. Everyone always says that if you enjoy your job you will not have to work a day in your life. That is something that I realized straight away when I switched majors and I enjoy my time working on projects or labs so much more now.
I am currently working for Ameriprise Auto and Home as a Technical Project Manager. I really am enjoying everything this field has taught me so far and there is so much more I can still learn from it. I am getting the hang of working with the developers as well as the business on projects and this has helped me tremendously. I get to dive deep into the weeds of the development work and experience first hand what it takes to do the development on a project that could last weeks, months, or years. I then get to utilize that knowledge to work with the business to continue perfecting that deliverable for them. The experience gained is invaluable.
I actively am pursuing entry level positions. Positions that I would especially be interested in are Project Manager - technical, software engineer, application development, and software development.
