About

Alan Deuchert is a senior at St. Norbert College pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and minors in Mathematics and Philosophy, and is set to graduate in the spring of 2020. During the summers of his college career, he has interned at Follett School Solutions as a Software Engineer. In addition, he has worked as a tester during those periods.  He hopes to continue working at Follett School Solutions after college as a full-time Software Engineer. This semester he is working with Analysis of Algorithms.

Philosophy Statement

Following in the footsteps of my father (a senior software architect) and my sister (a software engineer and alumna of St. Norbert College), I decided to go into the computer science program when I realized how much I loved the critical thinking and mathematics of high school, and learning that's what makes an efficient and successful programmer. Even in non-STEM courses did I see the concepts of asking "how" and "why" to both other's work and myself. As such, computer science requires continual learning and is thereby ever-expanding. Thus, I wish to not only apply myself to not only what is present, but also to what lays beyond.
