Philosophy Statement

I was first introduced to programming in a robotics class in middle school. I absolutely loved the software side of that class and proceeded to teach myself a fair bit of Python. I have always enjoyed the pure logic of code and the ability to will something into existence. It was always so gratifying to get a clone of a game that I liked up and running after hours of hard work.

I made the decision to pursue a major in Computer Science in college. I thought it was a good decision then and, to this day I am confident that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Career Plans (May 2021)

My career plans are, at best, uncertain. I am excited for the prospects ahead of me, but also cautious and nervous of what is to come. My plan throughout college has been to get my Bachelors degree and immediately join the workforce. In line with that, I have an internship and Schneider International lined up for this summer (2021) which I am very excited for. This should give me some good experience with the industry that I am considering being a part of. I still have one semester left of school so I have some time to consider options. Recently, I have also begun considering the prospect of going to graduate school and potentially training with the eventual goal of becoming a Professor of Computer Science. That is a somewhat daunting prospect but I am considering it and hopeful that, whichever path I take, I will enjoy what I do.
