I am Claire Bulick, an aspiring developer. Besides programming, I enjoy making artwork, playing video games, and taking walks outside.
Why get into CSCI?
In the fifth grade, my teacher assigned a project where we had to research how something of our choosing was made, and then write an essay on it. Being into video games as much as I was, I naturally chose them as the subject of my essay. I then thought it would be fun to make some of my own games. When I eventually learned how to code, I found that it was a lot like making art. In coding, the elements of how exactly to make your idea take form are also present, with the added layers of problem solving and interactivity. The artist in me really enjoys the satisfaction of seeing all the pieces come together for the final result. Programming also allows viewers to engage with art in a different way thanks to the element of interactivity, turning that art into a unique experience. I code because of how programming closely involves the creative process. My hope is that people will enjoy the games I make and perhaps become inspired to start programming as well.
