Philosophy statement: A few weeks before my freshman year of college, I called the registrar and made them put me in an
introductory computer science class even though I planned to major in biology. Coding was something
I realized I was kind of good at in high school, and I wanted to try it in college. Thank goodness
for 2022 Sydney. Little did she know she was making the best decision she could've at the time. I
think I made it about a month before I changed my major to computer science and math. What I love
about computer science is that it's an intersection between logic and creativity, and you get to
build new things from basically nothing. I have a ton of academic interests which still includes
biology, and I'm excited to apply what I've learned to create a project that combines all the things
I love!
