Why did I choose Data Analytics as a Major?
Growing up, I had always found math to be one of the more exciting subjects in school. However, I don’t enjoy doing math just for the sake of doing math. I love the applications that math can have, and working with numbers. Why I chose Data Analytics specifically is because in combination with the love for practical math, I also had an affinity for Computer Science, which was offered a little more in the major than something like Accounting or Math.
What has kept me in Data Analytics?
Put simply, I have enjoyed the classes that I have taken as part of the major. If I were to go back in time to my senior year of high school and make my decision for what my major would be based on the knowledge of what my classes looked like, I wouldn’t change anything.
Why do I Love the Data Analytics Major?
I love the Data Analytics major because it has allowed me to study a wide range of subjects while being able to master the skills that I need within them. On top of the requirements for the major, I was able to get within a class of a Computer Science minor, get a considerable amount of a Sports Management minor, extra classes in Economics, and enjoy being in Choir every semester with voice lessons for a semester as well.
