General Prediction
As these videos portray the touch screen technology will only expand further. The iPhone was a major step in bringing about the popularity of touch screens in consumer products. People are now demanding the simpleness of touch screens in other areas of technology. Projection touch screens are becoming more popular where an image can be projected onto a piece of glass and have touch capabilities. Other forms of touch that are being created include the Plastic Logic and pressure-sensitive computing (impress). The Plastic Logic is comparable to the kindle that allows for a very thin product and uses very little power but allows a user to put files including charts, tables, newspapers, books, magazines, and other forms of documents on the device to allow easy access and readability of the information. The pressure-sensitive computing is a foam that contains pressure sensors in the foam that allows for the image to be accessed by pressing on the foam screen. The applications that pressure-sensitive computing have been used with is 3D modeling, 3D gallery, sound field, and fresh from the press. The future of touch screens is predicted to allow for stretchable screens, flexible screens, projected images, and dual surface touch. The touch screen technology is currently taking off and expanding exponentially.
