Philosophy Statement

Computer Science is truly the challenge that I have sought to find in my life. Computer science is more than banging keys on the keyboard until you get something to work. It's an art form that requires patience, attention to fine detail, deep thought, and a creative mind that can approach a problem from many angles. One of the most important selling points of computer science is that one is always learning something new. I often see people getting stuck in mindless repetitive jobs, and that's just not for me. The ability to create and have something come together right before my eyes is amazing, although not always easy. The true fun is in the challenge and in the conquering. The power of this field is untamed. The amount of things we can do with computers will always keep growing, and I want to grow with it.

Computer science is the challenge I need. It's the ever-changing problems and environments to keep me on my toes and sharp, and it's the satisfaction of being able to build something and see your work come to life when compiled and implemented. I want to use computer science to help others, to ease things that may be difficult, to reduce redundant mindless work that reduces the person's intelligence after doing the work for so long, and to build wonders when I can. I would like to at some point throughout my career create a marvel that surpass and be remembered long after I am gone.

Career Plans as of Spring 2012

I will be staying in the De Pere area working at Schneider National. My role will be an MTS business intelligence role. I am looking to go wherever I can grow and learn more. I am still young and have much ambition for this stuff and will probably do a lot of independent research on my own to further my learning.
