With the spirit of research in mind, we have decided to design our project in such a way that others can build on it in the future. This means that future students could build circuitry projects that utilize our device to perform addition, but that have an ultimate purpose beyond the realm of addition.

In order to accomplish this, the core of our project will have a pin-header that can be connected to via a standard ribbon cable. Input to and output from our adder can be easily relayed, in parallel, through this cable.
